About Foundation Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship provides thoughtful guidance to students and families navigating college planning, scholarships, and important educational decisions. Our work focuses on helping students intentionally build the foundation they need to grow into strong, well‑prepared candidates.
We believe the strongest outcomes are built over time. Comprehension, context, and steady preparation matter more than shortcuts, pressure, or last‑minute strategies.
Our Approach
At Foundation Scholarship, we help students and families lay a strong foundation for college and scholarship success. Rather than concentrating only on applications, we guide families in understanding what students need to do over time — academically, personally, and experientially — to become strong, well‑prepared candidates.
This includes thoughtful course planning, meaningful extracurricular involvement, and intentional choices that reflect a student’s interests, strengths, and values. We help families see how everyday decisions shape long‑term opportunities.
Our approach emphasizes consideration over urgency and preparation over pressure. We help families step back, understand the bigger picture, and make decisions that are realistic, sustainable, and authentic — not driven by comparison, guarantees, or last‑minute strategies.

About Kim, your Educational Consultant
Kim Ewing brings a deep background in education and student development to her work with families. She has spent her career working inside schools — as a school psychologist, vice principal, and special education director — supporting students and families through complex academic and life decisions.
In addition to her professional experience, Kim has navigated the college and scholarship process firsthand as a parent. She guided her own two children through academic planning, extracurricular development, and scholarship preparation over many years, helping them build strong, authentic profiles aligned with who they were as students.
That long‑term, intentional approach resulted in significant scholarship opportunities — resulting in significant scholarship opportunities totaling over $600,000 across both students — not through shortcuts or formulas, but through steady preparation, informed choices, and a clear understanding of what colleges and scholarship committees value.
Kim has advanced training in psychology, education, and clinical social work, with a focus on learning, development, and student support. This combination of professional expertise and lived experience allows her to offer guidance that is both thoughtful and practical, grounded in how education systems work and how families actually experience them.
Her approach is calm, strategic, and centered on helping families make informed decisions that align with students’ strengths, goals, and long‑term well‑being.
