One session with your family, plus a written diagnostic of where your student stands across four pillars: coursework, activities, community service, and funding sources. Each one is measured against your student’s actual interests and goals. You leave with a plan for the year ahead, whatever grade your student is in.
The math on $495
Published prices now average $11,950 a year at public in-state universities and $45,000 at private colleges. Total private-college budgets average about $65,470 a year. Against those numbers, $495 is 2.5 percent of a single $20,000 scholarship. Families routinely spend more than that on one season of a sport or a few months of tutoring without knowing whether either one helps with scholarships. The Review tells you what does.

Who’s behind it
Foundation Scholarship Services LLC was co-founded by Kim Ewing, M.S., M.S.W., a former principal, school psychologist, and special education director, and by Kelsey Ewing, M.S., a cybersecurity professional who earned 40+ scholarships and, thanks to merit scholarships, graduated debt-free with a B.S. in Cybersecurity and Information Systems from Fresno State’s Lyles College of Engineering Honors Program and an M.S. in Cybersecurity. What does the $495 Strategy Review include?
One full one-on-one strategy session, plus a written four-pillar diagnostic of where your student stands across coursework, activities, community service, and funding sources. You leave with a plan for the year ahead. Your $495 is credited in full toward any Foundation Scholarship program (Senior Sprint, Senior Capstone, or Foundation Family) booked within 3 months of your review. It does not apply to standalone essay reviews or individual sessions.
Does my student need a high GPA or a low family income to earn scholarships?
No. Merit scholarships, honors colleges, and institutional awards do not require a 4.0 or financial need. They reward a well-built record of coursework, activities, service, and real interests, which is what the Foundation Framework builds. Our own students earned 75+ scholarships and over $1,000,000 in funded education this way.
What grade levels do you work with?
Families with students in grades 7 through 12, current college students, and adult applicants to graduate and professional programs. The earlier you start, the more time there is to build. Seniors get execution-focused support through Senior Sprint and Senior Capstone.
Do you help with graduate school funding?
Yes. Graduate funding works the same way at every level. Strong applicants attract merit money. Much of it comes from the programs themselves, and outside scholarships from industry and professional organizations add to it. For MBA applicants that means school fellowships, external programs such as Forté and the Consortium, and employer tuition support. For master’s and Ph.D. applicants it means assistantships, fellowships, training grants, and fully funded programs that cover all expenses and pay a stipend. Our own family record includes three fully funded graduate degrees: a master’s and two Ph.D. programs. Graduate and adult applicants start the same way every family does, with the $495 Strategy Review, and can add essay review at $175 per essay, or three for $500. Do you only work with families in Clovis?
No. We are based in Clovis, California, and many of our families come from Clovis, Fresno, and the surrounding Central Valley. Every session is held on Zoom, so we work with families anywhere in California and beyond.
